Taking the first step towards having plastic surgery is a very personal choice that begins with getting factual information that is relevant to you and your areas of concern. This is the purpose of consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon, such as Dr. Gallas. We understand that you need to feel completely comfortable prior to making a decision about plastic surgery which is why we strive to help you feel at ease throughout the entire consultation process. We believe you will enjoy feeling like an extension of our family while Dr. Gallas provides honest informative feedback and suggests surgery for individuals who are the best candidates.
Your consultation will answer questions such as: Am I a good candidate? What are the risks? What is the downtime? What is recovery like? How will I look afterwards? Knowledge is power!! Our goal is to empower you with accurate and relevant information so you can make the best decision about whether or not to have plastic surgery. To ensure that all of your questions are answered, we suggest that you bring a list of questions with you to review with Dr. Gallas. You may also want to bring your spouse, significant other, parent, sibling, friend, or whomever may be part of your decision making process and/ or post-operative care to be a second set of ears. Dr. Gallas wants you to be well informed so a lot of information is covered and it is not uncommon if you don’t retain everything he discusses with you.
Arrive at least fifteen minutes before your scheduled consultation time to fill out paperwork. If you prefer, you can complete necessary forms online or print them out to complete and bring with you. Make sure to bring your photo ID so we can make a complete medical chart for you. You will have the opportunity to relax in our lounge area prior to our nurse bringing you back to start your consultation. For many, this is when the butterflies in your stomach start from nervous excitement! Our nurse will visit with you to learn more about you, your medical history, reasons for considering plastic surgery, and areas of concern. She will relay this information to Dr. Gallas who will discuss it with you in greater detail.
Dr. Gallas will review your medical and family histories along with your current lifestyle and habits, since these are all factors that Dr. Gallas considers to determine if you are an eligible candidate for surgery. He will then talk to you about your areas of concern and results you envision. A physical examination will be done followed by a discussion regarding what results you can anticipate from suggested procedures.
Once your procedure plan is agreed upon with Dr. Gallas, you will meet with our patient coordinator to discuss: the cost of your procedure, financing options, and available surgery dates. Some patients will schedule the procedure at the time of the consultation while others book months, or even years, later. You will appreciate that we never pressure anyone into moving forward with a surgical, or non-surgical, procedure. If you decide to schedule your procedure, our caring and experienced team will ensure that you feel confident and comfortable with your decision by providing first class care and personal attention each step of the way. You will be seen for a second consultation and pre-operative visit to address any lingering questions or concerns and prepare you for you big day!
